Image Style

We have three main image styles in use at Dulwich Prep Cranbrook. 'From the Inside' is highly stylized and only used for specific marketing and advertising. 'Group Focus' and 'Looking in' have been developed to help photographers to capture the nature of the school in a visually consistant way.

'From the Inside

Our ‘From the inside’ image style aims to illustrate potential streaming from within a pupil. We use our colour triads to demonstrate the variety of talent and individuality within our pupils.

There are a number of rules to be aware of when photographing for this specific image style.

  • The portraiture should only concentrate on torso / waist up
  • When used alongside the monogram the coloured rays should emanate from the monogram
  • The figures are always to appear in high contrast black and white
  • Rays should always have an upward bias
  • Colour is only to start at the left profile of the figure and follow the silhouette accurately

'Looking In'

Here we provide a window to the vivid and diverse experience within the school. Choose bright, abstract and out-of-focus foreground elements to the left and/or right of then frame to help reveals an active mid-ground. Try to seek out vivid and multicoloured backgrounds to add intensity to the image.

'Group Focus'

Tightly cropped, groups of pupils (and teachers) all focused upon the relative subject. The vibrant and messy business of learning!
